This is a great interview for the Banatics' Forum! The interviewer asks Eric if he's ever heard of 'the Banatics' before and his response is really cute!! It's in the Video Clips section here.
For those of you who don't know...
Stephanie and I are the Admins at the Banatic's Forum. She is also the lovely webmaster of EricBanaCentral.com. Stephanie is the person who created the concept of 'the Banatics' and promoted the Forum on her site a long time ago.
So like I've said before in the credits here at this site,
"Special Thanks to Stephanie for creating the concept of 'The Banatics' and promoting the Banatic's Forum without her, the Forum wouldn't be what it is today."

Though he played the main part in Ang Lee's 'Hulk', a breakthrough for the Australian actor Eric Bana was missing; but this could change with Spielberg's 'Munich', in which Bana could prove his actual skills. In this interview, the good humored guy talks about his German roots, difficult politics and his family which is the most important to him.
Your mother is German. How many German words did she teach you?
"Not enough for an interview. Isch kann a bisserl, aber net zu viel. (laughs) That's enough for me. My mother originally come from Viernheim near Mannheim; I traveled with her a few times, but also alone through Germany. I love Bravaria, I'd like to travel some more times through this beautiful spot."

A completion announcement preview meeting for mass communication of latest product "Munich" of director Steven Spielberg was held in a theater of Tokyo, and Eric banner starring went on the platform for stage greetings.
As for this product about the terrorism case that happened, the details were really wrapped in darkness by a principle of thorough secret plan of director Spielberg. As for the thorough information management, in Japan and the article for mass communication preview society which was usually started at one month three months ago became an exceptional situation that completion announcement preview society was finally held open about 2 weeks ago.
Eric banner starring appears in the meeting place where mass communication waiting impatiently for the screening flocked to as a supply guest. I told that "this work became the work which I remembered" and was able to watch that I was satisfied with the finish of a movie from the expression very much. "In fact, because I finished photography in October, last year, I cannot finish yet coming out of a position". Again || half || of "assassin " || when remained, made a joke.

Australian actor Eric Bana is far from ubiquitous, preferring as he does to pick and choose his movies to maximise his time with his young family. Yet his currency is rising. Following Chopper, Black Hawk Down, Troy and Ang Lee's Hulk, Bana is back on the big screen as the leader of an Israeli hit squad in Steven Spielberg's Munich. He talks to Donald Clarke about a movie that is causing controversy across the political divide ;

Eric Interviewed on 'The Early Show'

If you missed this show it is online here:CBSNews.com

Source: CBSNews.com
CBS) Every actor wants to be noticed by Steven Spielberg, but Eric Bana couldn't have predicted that his 2003 role in "Hulk" would lead this year to a part as an assassin in the controversial but critically acclaimed new drama "Munich."
Bana talked to The Early Show anchor Harry Smith about his role as one of a group of professional assassins assigned to track down the Arab terrorists behind the murders of 11 Israeli athletes and a German policeman inside the 1972 Olympic Village in Munich, Germany.
The actor was on the other side of the world in Melbourne, Australia, when that event occurred, and he was only 4 years old.
But the movie Munich begins with that terrible event, he notes, "and then follows the story of what happened after that."
Based on the book "Vengeance" by George Jonas and directed by Spielberg, the movie follows the story of five assassins assigned to find the people responsible for the attacks.
"Myself and a group of four other gentlemen, played by an incredible bunch of actors, of course, go off and track down, hunt and kill the people responsible for the attacks," Bana says. "And that's basically what our movie is about."
This is no comic book action movie. Both the assassins and their targets are portrayed as flesh-and-blood people. The hunters try to lure their targets by setting themselves up to be hunted, and "that's where the film starts to kick into another gear," Bana says. "The paranoia and anxiety levels come up in the group. But that definitely ratchets up the drama."
That anxiety level is definitely conveyed to the audience, which is left wondering if the cycle of violence has any end.
"Look, it's really depressing," Bana says.
In one chilling scene, he is told to kill a KGB contact because he is even worse than the KGB contact he replaced after Bana's character assassinated him.
"I read that and thought, that's a really uncomfortable notion," he says. "Even if you are getting these guys, if they are being replaced by worse, is what you are doing even worthwhile? It's a pretty challenging thing, I think."
The actor started his career as a comedian and went to drama school in Australia before his big international break in Black Hawk Down in 2001. He also appeared in "Troy" in 2004. But it was his role in "Hulk" that caught Spielberg's eye.
"You could deliver a performance that's more showy or more in-depth or whatever, but it's a good lesson," he says. "You never really know who is watching and what they are taking out of it, and whether it's good or bad. I'm really glad I did that film if it got me this role."

the lead role in new movie 'Munich' - he thought the director was drunk.
The 'Troy' star was asked to visit Spielberg on set of 'The Terminal', but wasn't told the reason why.
Bana tells Empire magazine, "I just sat there wondering what this had to do with me?"
Then he revealed he was intending for me to play the lead (in 'Munich').
"I wanted to ask him if he'd been drinking that day!"

London: Aussie actor Eric Bana is still distraught after Australia's defeat against England in the Ashes last year.
According to contactmusic.com, Bana was horrified when England clinched the series after years of successive losses.
He says: "I was very shocked. I really didn't think it was going to happen. We did have a few Brits on the 'Munich' set, so I did cop it. I was copping it from both ends, because my Australian Rules (football) team St. Kilda was getting knocked out of the finals. "Nothing, but heartbreak, nothing but heartbreak."

No 'Hulk II' Says Bana
Top
January 2, 2006
Written By: Clint Morris
Source: MovieHole.net
Everything that I’m hearing – Both Eric Bana and Ang Lee refusing to do it,
Universal and Marvel talking low-budget DTV follow-ups or animated DVD Premieres
instead – about a 'Hulk 2' (Personally, I’d rather watch ants attack a sweaty
cat bowl) seems to fit in with a few words star Eric Bana gave NYNewsday.com
today.
That’s news to Marvel, which still lists a 'Hulk 2' on their schedule. Granted, that might be the DTV sequel or something else that Bana won’t have to get involved in, so no need to take an eraser to that listing yet.
A source of the ‘hole told us last year that the delay with a sequel wasn’t because they were waiting fort a good script (which the producers regularly used as counter) but because of Bana,
who was just plain non-interested in committing to another bout as Bruce Banner. Who could blame him either? Spielberg’s 'Munich', Curtis Hanson’s 'Lucky You' – not exactly films you’d turn away from to do a comic book sequel (especially one that didn’t make anywhere near the money of peers like 'Spider-Man', 'X-Men' or 'Batman Begins').
Now that “Munich” has turned Eric Bana into an even bigger star – seems he’s found the goolies to admit he won’t be wearing the ripped purple shorts again.
Maybe Uni should just cut their losses, move on, and greenlit that long-awaited “She Hulk” starring Briggite Nielsen. I’m not kidding. It was first mentioned about fifteen years ago. Imagine my disappointment not seeing it on release schedules each and every year. Imagine.
