Natalie Portman and Eric Bana May Headline 'The Other Boleyn Girl' Movie.
Natalie Portman and Eric Bana may star in the movie 'The Other Boleyn Girl', the historical drama to be directed by Justin Chadwick. According to The Hollywood Reporter, both actors are in final negotiations to take on the lead roles in the Columbia Pictures film.
Based on the novel by Philippa Gregory, the plot centers on the rivalry between Mary and Anne Boleyn. The sisters fought over King Henry VIII, with both women seeking to be queen. At age 14, Mary becomes the King's lover and the couple have two children. However sister Anne comes between the lovers and inserts herself into the power position. The Other Boleyn Girl follows their tale as the women fall in and out of favor with the King and his court.
Peter Morgan adapted the screenplay from Gregory's novel.
If the deals go through, Portman would play Anne and Bana will star as King Henry VIII.
Filming is expected to start in September, 2006.
